I'm an artist with a lifetime love of scientific exploration. I've always loved ink. My notebooks are full of pen drawings where my subconcious unfolds in fantastic scenes. While others use their smart phones for social media sites, I pull out my notepad and ballpoint pen, and let my hand create whatever my mind imagines. These creations embrace both technology and symbiotic relationships in nature, represented by merging of machine, animal and plant forms into hybrid organisms. Some of these ideas lead to more detailed renditions with acrylic inks and calligraphy pens, others to larger paintings. Recently, I've enjoyed creating fantastic bio-mechanical creatures based on current technology trends, yet rooted in the classic science fiction of mechanical thinking machines. I want to peel away the skin, or cover layer, and see the underlying structures and organs at the heart of each entity.
